DR. Orlando barrera
Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Dr. Barrera knows the true meaning of “coming home.” After graduating from Carroll High School, he went on to receive a B.S. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. Dr. Barrera continued his education at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee where he received his D.D.S. degree.
Upon graduation, Dr. Barrera started his dental career in Houston where he practiced for 11 years. Dr. Barrera actively participated in the Greater Houston Dental Society, holding leadership roles, serving on various committees and peer groups, and representing his community at the state-level as a nominee for “Texas New Dentist of the Year.” Only six dentists in the state are nominated for this impressive distinction. In 2015, Dr. Barrera and his family decided it was time to return home to Corpus Christi to serve the people of South Texas and the Coastal Bend.
To Dr. Barrera, customer service is at the core of providing quality care to his patients. He treats his patients with the level of care and empathy that he would want bestowed upon his own family. Dr. Barrera works to diminish dental fears and anxieties through patient education and personal conversations with his patients.
Dr. Barrera is an avid cyclist who enjoys college sports, and spending time with his wife, Kristi, and daughters Mila and Kora. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and currently holds a board position in the Nueces Valley District Dental Society.
